Farmers to protest South Fraser Perimeter Road

Join SFPR opposition Wednesday to unveil a new symbol of the growing resistance!

What: Delta farmers unveiling a large billboard protesting the South Fraser Perimeter Road, beside Highway 17 in Delta.

When: 11 am, Wednesday March 24, 2010

Where:
Loranda Farms, 6053 28 Avenue, Delta, BC

Who: Local farmers and supporters. Richmond City Councillor and Agricultural Land Reserve co-founder Harold Steves will be available for comment. Steves told a packed crowd at a town hall meeting in January that the SFPR's destruction of local farmland is a crime against humanity.

Why: To draw attention to the potential loss of farmland caused by the South Fraser Perimeter Road (SFPR). Loranda Farms is one of the farms directly impacted by the SFPR and stands to lose valuable land to the freeway project.

Getting there: Take 64th street south from Highway 10, and turn right on 28th Ave. (From Tsawwassen take Highway 17 northbound and turn right on 28th Ave.) Search Loranda Farms on Google Maps. Call 604-588-4203 if you get lost or need help with directions.
